Arrive just before sunset to experience the fountains in both the daylight and the dark. Take in the Fantasy Fountain water-and-laser-light show, which is set to music. Some fountains are interactive, such as the Tunnel of Surprises, the Labyrinth of Dreams, and the Walk-In Dome. You can try to stay dry as you step inside each one, but will certainly be prone to a splash here and there.

The Surquillo Market become something of a mecca for international foodies after the praise of the famous Peruvian chef Gastón Acurio. The market is open every day and sees a large amount of food and spices sold. You can find exotic fruits from the Amazon Rainforest, potatoes and chili peppers from the tops of the distant Andes Mountains, fresh fish and seafood from the coast, and meats of different types, including alpaca and guinea pig.
