Full description

Take a full-day, multi-city tour that brings you to some of Portugal's most popular medieval and 20th-century architectural and religious marvels, beginning in Lisbon and ending in Fátima. Depart from Lisbon by bus at 9:00 and head to Óbidos, the 'wedding present town'. This is the town that King Dinis gave to his bride, Queen Isabel, on their wedding day in 1282.

This romantic village is surrounded by the 45-foot-high walls of a medieval Moorish castle, the famous Pousada do Castelo. Stop for lunch in colorful Nazaré, a traditional Portuguese fishing village. If time permits, head to Sítio to enjoy a beautiful view of the beach and ocean.

Then, kick off the afternoon with a trip to Batalha Monastery, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, with beautiful stained-glass windows and the Manueline-style Royal Cloister. Arrive at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fátima, a center of Catholic faith and globally recognized pilgrimage destination. Housed in the Basilica are the tombs of Lúcia, Francisco, and Jacinta, peasant children who, despite threats, never denied witnessing the apparition of Mary.

The heart of the shrine is in the Chapel of Apparitions. Schedule permitting, you can attend Mass. Afterwards, you will return to Lisbon on a route that takes you through a rich agricultural region.

Pleasant, friendly pick-up from the hotel, good transportation from Mr. Juan Pablo, excellent travel experience, very good guide, 4 languages, highly recommended Fatima, Bathalla, Nazareth and Óbidos. Ginja and chocolate something new but very good. Get your guide as it has always fulfilled us! We look forward to other tours in Europe!

A very full day with chance to see a range of places. The balance wasn't quite right, but that was possibly partly due to the weather. As time was limited in most places, it would have helped to be told more of the practicalities in advance - several of the churches had areas for which a ticket was the time I'd realised this, figured out whether I might want to buy a ticket and found the ticket office, it would have been too late. The 30 minute shopping stop on the way to Fatima was unnecessary, the optional lunch took around 2 hours, leaving those of us who instead got a snack in the town with too much time. And Obidos really deserved much more than an hour. But it was a good way to see all the essentials. All credit to the guide, leading in 3 languages, and the driver

It was a great trip! The locations were nice but my main focus was Fatima. I recommend not purchasing the linch option if you want to attend the full mass. They only give you 1 hour if your lunch is included on the trip and an hour is not enough time. If lunch is not included then you have 2 hours in Fatima. I did the without lunch option and spent the 2 hours attending mass and then was able to walk around to see the other places of interest. My guide did a good job. Although it was impressive she spoke 4 different languages, she was clearly sick and almost didn't have a voice. It was a bot hard to understand her sometimes. I felt bad for her.
