Start with getting a feel for the beautiful and historic Sintra. Visit a family-run winery located in Sintra's hillside. The production of wine at this winery was actually interrupted 100 years ago. At the moment, they produce high-quality red and white wines in a traditional way with national and international recognition. Then stop at the regional cellars in Colares to have a tasting of the best regional wines.  Colares, the most unique appelation in the world The cooperative winery at Colares (Adega Regional de Colares) was founded in 1931. It congregates today more than 50% of the total production, with an important social role in the region. Its beautiful building dates back to the late 19th century, with an imposing interior housing wooden barrels, casks and vats totaling more than 1 million liters capacity. It is the maturing and aging place “par excellence” for the wines of this appellation. Next, visit Azenhas do Mar, a coastal village in the municipality of Sintra with a very picturesque landscape. Followed by a short drive to Praia da Maçãs, a well-known beach with golden sand and clear water. Discover the most westerly point of continental Europe, Cabo da Roca. From the cliff tops, enjoy the fantastic view of the beaches and the sea. On the way back, have the chance to enjoy this unique beach with its famous dunes.
