Full description
Meet your local guide and head to Tomar on a road trip that takes about one hour. When there, go directly to the Templar Castle and the Convento de Cristo Monastery and be amazed by this magnificent monument filled with history. Descend to the city of Tomar and visit the old town passing by the old Synagogue, the oldest in Portugal. You have the chance to walk around and find some of the most unique buildings in the city. Spend some free time to enjoy lunch.  Leaving Tomar, head to Constância, where Luís de Camões, the most famous Portuguese poet, is said to have lived. There, enjoy the magnificent views of the confluence of Zêzere and Tejo rivers. Take a small boat ride in the calm waters of the Tagus river up to the unique Almourol Castle island, where you have some more free time to explore. At the end of the day, return to Lisbon in the comfortable van.

Excellent. Our small group of two gave us a lot of flexibility and good pace to see all the sites on the itinerary. João is an excellent guide and went above and beyond. We have a richer understanding of the sites plus Portugal history, culture and people. We really enjoyed this tour. It was one of my favorites. We have a new Portuguese friend in João.

The visit to Almourol Castle was perfect. It was such a unique castle and there was not many tourists so we could fully enjoy our visit to the castle. The Christ Convent was beautiful and it got many gorgeous paintings and designs. Our guide John was very knowledgeable and he introduced everything so well to us.

Super interesting tour to the Templars in the Tomar Monastery with an impressive chapel in the fortified church and an incredible 7 cloisters 8 approx. 1.5 hours. Very interesting remarks by the guide Joao on the scientific achievements of the Templars in the field of navigation. Delicious meal in a restaurant in Tomar followed by a city tour to the Arab irrigation system and the synagogue (30 min). Short boat trip to the fortification in Almourol and visit (45min) -.
