Full description
After being chosen as the site to host the last world fair of the 20th century, Expo 98, eastern Lisbon has since been reborn into a futuristic glass-and-steel district. Explore one most modern cities in Portugal on this e-bike tour around Parque das Nações. Start with training and a safety briefing before setting out on your adventure. Ride on e-bikes tailor-made for the hilly city of Lisbon. Equipped with an electric engine, these bikes can give you a push through the hardest parts of the tour. Follow your guide to the avant-garde side of Lisbon that contrasts with its old historic center. See the city’s modern architecture and most iconic spots. Pass Oriente Station, a landmark with the signature of Santiago Calatrava. See Altice Arena and Pritzker-award-winning architect Álvaro Siza Vieira’s Pavilhão de Portugal, Portugal’s pavilion known for its remarkable undulating roof. Many of the other constructions you’ll pass have an ocean theme: the twin towers São Gabriel and São Rafael resemble ships and are named after two of Vasco da Gama's vessels. You’ll also pass by the Lisbon Oceanarium, the largest indoor aquarium in Europe. Everywhere you turn, there will be a glimpse of the river that looks more like an ocean (crossed by Europe's longest bridge), water volcanos erupting, wave-shaped benches, exotic greenery, and public art by both Portuguese and international artists.
