Full description
Depart Lisbon and drive to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Sintra. Upon arrival, explore the enchanting village to discover why it was favored by royalty as a place of retreat in former times. Marvel at the 19th-century romantic architecture and see the pastel-colored castles and palaces in the village and forested hills. Venture off the typical tourist routes, and get stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean from the westernmost point of continental Europe at Cabo da Roca. Head to the traditional fishing village of Cascais, known for its sandy beaches, busy marina and medieval Nossa Senhora da Luz Fort. Follow in the footsteps of royalty as you visit sites of historic importance in the pedestrianized old town and experience the lively ambiance of the waterfront. Stop to taste some authentic Portuguese food along the way before the return drive to Lisbon.

What a fantastic tour! We had an exceptional guide, Sergio, who went above and beyond. He provided a deep dive in the history of each place we visited. We also had a lot of flexibility in what we visited. Since it was a lovely day and I have young kids, Sergio had excellent suggestions of places that everyone would enjoy. He also introduced us to sites off the beaten path that we would have never discovered on our own or through a regulated tour. We also had this tour one of the last days before the country’s tourism industry came to a screeching halt due to the Coronavirus. Although much of the remaining days of our trip were spent rather low key to avoid too much exposure prior to our return travel, I’d say our tour with Sergio made our travels very worthwhile. An absolutely wonderful place to visit with an exceptional guide who brought its rich history and culture to life! I hope that the travel industry in Portugal bounces back quickly after this crisis has passed. Worth the visit!

Started badly, but then they were rebuilt !!

The start was not the best since, although I had confirmed two days before, the guide did not arrive on the day of the trip due to a mistake caused by the organization. After contacting the customer service they finally managed to get our guide and the tour started but with two hours of delay. They still made up for it because everything went well, we saw everything we had to see, we also visited Cabo da roca which was not on the program. The guide was very helpful and kind. All is well that ends well.

Everything we wanted to see!

The tour would actually go to the Palace Pena but we preferred to go to Quinta da Regaleira. No problem! Just dropped off at the door. The route along the coast is really worth it. If we wanted to stop somewhere extra that was just possible. Neat car and super nice contact with our guide Paula.
