Full description
The first stop on your 8-hour tour is the fantastic Palace of Queluz, built in the 18th century as the official royal residence of King Pedro IV of Portugal. Visit the beautiful historic town of Sintra, a UNESCO world heritage site, and discover its picturesque streets, Sintra National Palace, the fountains, the churches, chapels and shrines. Head up to the Moorish castle, where the early construction dates back to the 8th and 9th centuries. From the castle, you’ll have fantastic view of the whole region. The next stop is the Pena Palace, where you’ll see a mix of architectural styles. The palace is one of the best examples of Romanticism of the 19th century. You’ll visit the most westerly point in continental Europe next. From the clifftops you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the beaches and the sea. From the coastal road, you’ll also be able to see the towns of Estoril and Cascais. Stop in Colares at the cellars of Adega Regional de Colares, a wine producer that has been in operation for 2 centuries and one of the most prestigious. Learn about the history of the winery, visit the cellar and taste its unique wines. Next you’ll make a stop to enjoy the town’s unique beach with its famous dunes. This spot has become a sanctuary for surfing, windsurfing and kite surfing. You’ll also visit the charming town of Cascais, a former fishing village that became a royal getaway. Today it is still one of the most attractive destinations for the Portuguese and upscale international travelers due to all that it has to offer, from boutiques and restaurants, to hotels, beaches and more.

Wow what an incredible experience. José was the ultimate host. The conversation and all of the information imparted by Jose really made this a true adventure. From the beautiful views in Cascais, Colares with amazing food and unique wines to historical Sintra each was magical. I truly felt immersed and the was able to see and do so many things without feeling rushed. If you can only do one tour, this is the one you cant miss. Thank you

We had such an amazing experience with Jose. He was super knowledgeable about the different parts of the city and was mindful of our time constraint. The tour honestly felt like we were traveling with a friend rather than a tour guide. He recommended an amazing restaurant for lunch and showed us a lot of things off the beaten path. We’re foodies and his food recommendations were out of this world. The next time we’re in Lisbon, we plan on booking another tour with him.

Beautiful tour, great overview

We really enjoyed seeing so much in one day. While expensive, I think it was worth having the guide and the flexibility, rather than just taking the train to Sintra. We did feel pressed for time (through no fault of our driver, who was great), but will just have to come back for another visit!
