Full description
This is the perfect tour to discover the importance of the Tagus river in Portuguese history. It is the longest river on the Iberian Peninsula, flowing 626 miles long (1,007 km) between Spain and the Atlantic at Lisbon. The biggest sailors started their adventures across unknown seas hear, such as Vasco da Gama, in the 15th century.  Start your tour at Cais do Sodré near Praça do Comércio (City Historical Center), an important bohemian neighborhood that connects everyone with the city. Always riding along the river, you'll pass trough Lisbon and explore it, feeling like a local. This tour is a balance between historic places and the new ones across the old Lisbon industry zone. Historically the most important points of this tour are Cais das Colunas and Terreiro do Paço. Cais das Colunas is an old shipping dock where people and spices entered Lisbon at the Era of Discoveries. In Terreiro do Paço it is possible to see where the last Portuguese king made his last steps before being assassinated. Before Parque das Nações (futuristic district) you will pass through the most industrial Lisbon area, which is developing into a cultural hub of the city today.  At last pass through Parque das Nações, which used to be an ugly industrial area until it was chosen as the site to host the last world fair of the 20th century, Expo 98'. It has since been reborn into a futuristic glass-and-steel district, home to some wonderful examples of modern architecture. Explore Lisbon on a Sitway, an electronic bike-like vehicle, which lets you discover the city effortlessly and in a relaxed way.

The ride is very beautiful, but the "vehicle" not very comfortable.

Helpful guide, but a little busy. I believe that just renting the sitway and a good reading about the transformations of the place would have been more beneficial for the beautiful landscape.
