Take a rest in the Survivors’ Park commemorating the liquidation of the ghetto and stop under one of over 600 “memory trees” planted by those who survived the Litzmannstadt Ghetto. Visit the only remaining pre-war synagogue – Reicher synagogue which survived the times of occupation as a salt warehouse. Discover the cultural relevance and unique architecture of Lodz, Poland’s third-largest city, on a private tour that commemorates the tragic history of the Jewish Ghetto enacted during World War II. Depart Warsaw on a 1.5-hour drive to Lodz, which was the once center of the polish industry and was referred to as the Promised Land or the Polish Manchester.  Learn about its grim history during World War II, where, under Nazi control, it was annexed and its name changed to Litzmannstadt.  Walk around the Jewish Ghetto, where over 200.000 Polish Jews were retained, and unfortunately only a few survived. See how this historic district has survived and now serves a memorial, commemorating the tragic events of the Holocaust.   Explore the maze of factories and workshops that contrast with the splendid pre-war buildings with richly decorated facades found in the picturesque city center.

During the tour you will see: Zelazowa Wola – the place of birth of Frederic Chopin. Put yourself in little Frederic’s shoes while strolling down the hallways of his old home. The exhibition includes lots of valuable memorabilia from the Chopin family, including an original Playel piano. If you are lucky, you may hear the live piano concert on Sunday afternoons (from May to September). The mansion is situated on the river Utrata and surrounded by a picturesque park. Brochow – fortified church. The current exterior church was created during the reconstruction in 1665. The church was built of red brick and is one of the most valuable examples of  ‘defensive’ architecture in Poland. Here Frederic’s parents – Nicholas Chopin and Tekla Justyna Krzyżanowska were married and Frederick was baptized. Lowicz - This small town is known for its triangular market square, the only one in Poland and one of three in Europe. Just next to the market square lies a cathedral from the 17th century and Lowicz Museum, which displays a rich collection of wooden sculptures, colorful costumes and paper cuts. In Lowicz, traditions are still alive. With a little luck, you can even meet women dressed in traditional folk costumes! Maurzyce – etnographic park. Discover Polish folklore just outside Lowicz. Maurzyce Etnographic Park gives you an opportunity to see villages characteristic of the 19th century. Admire genuine buildings with stunning furnished interiors and interesting buildings: a school, stable and huts.
