Bike Tours

On this 6-hour tour you will discover Gerung City and the beautiful countryside of Lombok by bicycle. Depending on your hotel location, you will be picked up around 08.00 and taken you to Gerung City, the capital of West Lombok Regency. Starting at the Lombok Monument, you will see many government buildings and the mayor’s office. From here you will visit the village of Kuripan, where you will see local people making bricks from clay and see the entire brick-making process in one place. A 20-minute ride you will then take you through a mountain area with a great view of the rice terraces. You can interact with the local farmers in their field as well as pass by one of the Hindu villages and see 2 different tribes living in harmony in one place. After arriving at the main road, you will cross the 100-meter high ancient hanging bridge that was built during the Dutch colonial period in Lombok. You will then start cycling through Kebon Ayu, a hand-weaving village where you will see women hand weaving and making sarongs with traditional tools. You will then cycle to the village of Kebon Kongok and take a traditional boat ride across the river before reaching the Gunung Pengsong Temple. From here you will hike 15-20 minutes to the top of the hill, where you can admire the panoramic view of the farms and the beach area. Your driver will then pick you up and transfer you back to your hotel.

Be picked up at 7.30 AM from your hotel in the Mataram or Senggigi area and depart for the starting point around a 1-hour drive away, where you will begin biking. Make a stop at a local villager, making unique traditional food from jackfruit and other local delicacies. Proceed to a handicraft village, to see how local people craft huge cow bells for racing through a traditional practice. Admire the rural landscape of rice fields and mountain areas and pass two different tribes, living together harmoniously in one village with the religious symbols of Hindu Temple and Mosque located in the same area. Continue exploring the area and arrive in a Hindu village, passing more rice fields on the way. At the next resting point, taste some local food and cool off at the Ranget Natural Spring to restore your energy for the coming stage. Bike along the river and rice fields and brace yourself for a 15-minute uphill ride before reaching the downhill trail at Praba Village and Endut village, passing local villagers, who make handicrafts from grass. The bike ride will end at Lingsar Temple, where a local guide will take you to explore the temple before you are transferred back to your hotel.

The tour starts with pick-up at your hotel lobby around 7:30 AM, (Senggigi and Mataram area only - for other areas there will be an additional charge). You will then drive to your starting point at Mapak Village and slowly start paddling to Padang Reak Village through the huge rice paddy fields and continue to Jeranjang Village. Here you will have a chance to try local cakes and crackers when the traditional warungs of villager are open. After that, you'll head to Kebon Ayu Village to see how local people make bricks from clay with traditional devices in a traditional way and then continue riding to the hand weaving village of Penarukan to look at closely how the local people make Saroong. You will then cross the Ketejer River by a traditional wooden gondola to go to Mount Pengsong Temple. The driver will be waiting for you to drive you back to your hotel at the end of the trip.
