Full description

Immerse yourself in the north of Lombok, home to the Sasak tribe, on a full-day excursion that covers half of Lombok island. You’ll visit north, east, and central Lombok and your guide will include sites of particular interest to you. See traditional Sasak houses, the old mosque, Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep waterfalls, a traditional market, the Summer Palace, and much more. Drive to the Narmada Summer Palace and Royal Garden, built in 1718. Continue the tour to Sembalun Valley, located at the foot of Mt. Rinjani. The valley is the main starting point for treks up to the peak of Mt. Rinjani. When you arrive at one of the area’s strawberry plantations, you’ll have the chance to pick your own strawberries. From here, it’s on to Mt. Rinjani National Park, where you’ll learn about the second-highest peak in Indonesia. After enjoying time in the Sembalun Valley you’ll visit the Bayan old mosque, which was the first mosque in Lombok. Then you’ll have a chance to admire the Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep waterfalls, located on the north slope of Mt. Rinjani, about 600 meters above sea level. Feel the cold water, and take a shower there. Visit Senaru village, where mountain tribal life and the traditions of past centuries still exist. On the way back to your hotel you’ll make a final stop to see the sunset at Malimbu or Nipah cliff, with Mt. Agung Bali as the idyllic backdrop.

We had a very nice day! This tour was a very good way to see a lot of Lombok and learn a lot about the culture. We spent the whole day on the road and found all the locations very interesting (Narmada summer palace, Sembalun, Bayan, waterfalls at Senaru) Tour guide Endy made it extra personal and there was a lot of room for spontaneous encounters with the locals!

Unfortunately the day we was supposed to go I was ill during the night, with help from our hotel the guide very kindly offered to reschedule to the following day. Our guide picked us up the following day on time, with his driver, the guide told us so much about the island and about the places we was passing through. First stop was the King's Palace, was a lovely place very peaceful. We declined to go to a local market but saw plenty on our drive, we stopped and had pineapple, drove up through the mountains, taking in all the scenery, once at the top we stopped for photo opportunities, and looked for the black monkeys. Going down through the valley we went strawberry picking. We stopped for lunch at the top of the waterfalls, the restaurant was lovely and a popular spot with more photo opportunities of the views. After going in the waterfall we went to a tribal village, where we could walk through and around, on the way back we stopped for more photos of views of Gili Island & Bali.

nice trip with a very long drive

The trip took 12 hours! The palace was average at best and the walk through the vegetable fields was boring. Long drive with traffic jams through the street markets, which are worth seeing. Intense strawberry picking with a view of the Rinjani was fun. Nice restaurant with great views of terraces and waterfall. Hike with climbing deposits to the waterfalls worth seeing. Short tour of the Sasak village shortly before dark with a late drive home.
