Full description
Discover the fascinating history of 2 of London's most important landmarks on a guided tour with a Blue Badge Guide. Meet your kid-friendly guide just outside the Tower of London and begin your journey of discovery into a wealth of British history and tradition. The whole family will be fascinated by the host of attractions the Tower of London offers, and your guide will enthrall you with a series of stories and legends associated with London's only castle. Your children will be encouraged to use their imagination to better understand what life was once like in the tower's grounds. Inside, see some of the most important features of the Tower, including Mint Street, the White Tower, the Medieval Tower, the Line of Kings, the Imprisonment and The Chapel of St. Peter ad Vincula. No visit to the Tower of London would be complete without seeing the Crown Jewels, a priceless collection of regalia carried by British monarchs at their coronations. Later, visit the Royal Menagerie, where you can see a series of statues and installations reflecting the fact that a whole range of wild and exotic animals once inhabited the Tower. As you stroll around the grounds, meet some of the Yeomen Warders, more famously known as Beefeaters. Keep your camera handy so you can have a great souvenir photo taken with one of them. Next, head to Tower Bridge, London's most recognizable bridge and one of the world's most iconic landmarks. Thanks to your expert guide, see London from a unique perspective, walking along the breathtaking high-level walkways and watching the hustle and bustle of London and the River Thames 42 meters below you. All the family will enjoy a visit to the Engine Rooms as the magic that transformed this working bridge into one of the best-known images in the world is revealed.
