Full description
This tour will take you on an exploration of London’s major landmarks, giving you a good overview of the history, culture and legends of one of Europe’s best-loved cities. Start by heading through Green Park to Buckingham Palace, where on selected days you can watch the world-famous Changing of the Guard ceremony. After witnessing this impressive traditional ritual, where the New Guard exchanges duties with the Old Guard, head to Westminster. Sights you'll see along the way include Downing Street, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. The walk will be timed so that you get to hear Big Ben's globally recognizable chimes. Then, head to the London Bridge area, where you'll see Shakespeare’s Globe Theater, the Shard, HMS Belfast, Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. What makes this tour unique is the expertise and enthusiasm of your guide, who has lived in the center of London for over 20 years (right next to the Tower of London). He is passionate about—and fascinated by—the history and architecture of the city. He is proud to live here and really enjoys showing off the city to visitors. Lots of interaction on this walking excursion will make it a lot more interesting than your average London tour! Your guide has read countless books and attended many talks on London, so they will have many great stories to share.

This was a great way to start off our 4 day holiday in London. Our guide, Jill, was extremely knowledgeable and had the best energy. Her enthusiasm as she guided us to all the many locations on the tour was refreshing. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who is visiting for the first time or would like a refresher about the vast history and fun tidbits about the many famous landmarks of London.

First trip to London & thought it would be good to get an overview of the area. Really enjoyed our guide Tim & his stories. Weather was beautiful. Saw Spencer house, caught changing of the guard & the horse guards. Took the tube - our first time & so easy. Went to a huge Market for a quick bite but can’t recall the name. Saw the bubblegum artist at work on the millennium bridge. Really enjoyed our tour.

Tim was an amazing guide! Very funny and informative tour. We were able to see the changing of the guard from all the best spots away from the crowds thanks to our guide’s expertise. This was a great way to learn about the history of London (and get your steps in for the day!).
