Mount Teide: Tour with Cable Car Ticket

1. Mount Teide: Tour with Cable Car Ticket

After picking you up in the selected location, you will visit the largest national park in the Canary Islands and experience a volcanic landscape of unrivaled beauty with your Mount Teide cable car ticket. Forget the car and contribute to a sustainable Teide. By choosing group transport, you’ll help to beat overcrowding in the vehicle parking zones inside the national park which, as a conservation measure, are small and unsuitable for expansion. From the base station, board the cable car for the 8-minute ride up to the highest peak in Spain. The cable car’s upper station, at 3,555 meters, is the point of departure for 3 interesting trails for hiking enthusiasts. There are paths to Pico Viejo Lookout and La Fortaleza Lookout, where you’ll have spectacular views of the north and south of the island. The Telesforo Bravo path leads to the highest point of the volcano, at an altitude of 3,718 meters. To visit the peak you must apply for a permit in advance.

What people are saying about Los Cristianos

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. Pick up and drop off was smooth. The tour guide was knowledgeable and shared lots of useful insights along the journey, about culture, nature and the areas we were passing, in English, Spanish and French. The driver was very friendly too and the coach comfortable. The trip was well paced, with a pit stop soon after all pick ups for a drink (we had the local coffee and cookies and they were well worth trying). We stopped again at the rock formation before the volcano to walk around and take photos, before the final five minutes to the bottom Teide. There, we were given our cable car tickets and advised we had two hours. The cars go up every 10 mins and take 40 people max, so we got up there in good time, and had a look around before descending. Time was spent in the gift shop and canteen (more expensive than the first stop, unsurprisingly). More insights shared on the return and a stop at a nice tourist shop before drop offs. We all loved the day.

Very sympathetic guide who gave clear information. Good that punctuality was taken into account. The tips to put on warm clothes were not necessary yesterday. Didn't need a sweater and regretted wearing long pants. The excursion was blissful. Thank you very much.

I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our guide was also very nice and told all kinds of things about El Teide. I definitely recommend the cable car. At the top of El tide you have about an hour to walk around and take pictures. Certainly do!

Excellent way to learn about volcanoes- great running commentary as you look at them with some quirky facts. We really enjoyed this trip it was well worth the money.

recommend this trip, group a was small and intimate. Guide was knowledgeable and the local lunch was brilliant. Thank you.
