Full description

Madeira island is one of the top 5 places in the world for the practice of canyoning/canyoneering, and this is your opportunity to experience it first hand. Following pickup from your hotel, you'll head up to the mountains where you will receive your canyoning gear. After being decked out in your gear, it will be time for a small hike through some of the most impressive and exclusive nature that Madeira has to offer. As soon as your safety briefing concludes, it will be time to rappel down paradisaical waterfalls, where the mountain spring waters are always flowing. Along the canyon you'll also encounter natural swimming pools which you can swim in and even jump into. In some of the canyons you may also have the opportunity to slide down natural water slides. Once the activity ends you'll change back into your regular dry clothes, following which you'll be returned back to your accommodation.

This was a truly lovely adventure & i would recommend it to everyone. I was a bit anxious before the activity because I had never done any abseiling or anything of the sort. Plus I am really not the adventurous type. But Peter, Ronaldo & Rafa were so patient & explained things so well that I felt perfectly safe & would do it again in a heartbeat. Wonderful experience. I went together with my 11-year old daughter and we both were totally exhausted and felt great at the same time. Highly recommended if you are in Madeira, suiltable for everyone - family, friends, or solo traveller. Only one thing was I wish the tour description has had more detailed description of the distance, how many canyoning points, swimming experiece… so we know what to expect and some more support for persons swim not so well like me.
