This tour amidst vineyards will show you how some human effort has transformed the desert into a modern-day oasis. You will learn all about how this was achieved through an irrigation system of canals inherited from the Huarpes, the native inhabitants of this region. You will visit two or three selected wineries in the Luján de Cuyo or Maipú regions. This is an area where your enologist guides will explain the process of wine making. Following this educational lesson, you will also have the chance to taste some of the best wines in the region in both wineries. You will then visit an olive oil factory, another specialty of the Mendoza region. At the conclusion of your tour, you will return to your accommodation in Mendoza City.

4. Mendoza: Private Return Transfer to Maipú or Lujan de Cuyo

Mendoza is one of the great wine capitals of the world, and is by far the largest wine region in Argentina. Located on a high-altitude plateau at the edge of the Andes Mountains, the province is responsible for roughly 70 percent of the country's annual wine production. The two most important regions of production of wine in this area are the Maipú Valley or Lujan de Cuyo. Lujan de Cuyo is known as the land of Malbec, and is considered the place where Argentina's wine movement began. Maipú is a traditional wine-producing region with a rich history, home to various world-famous wineries. This private transfer will pick you up from your hotel or personal address in central Mendoza. Your driver will then take you to any winery of your choice in Maipú Valley or Lujan de Cuyo, and coordinate a pickup time to return to Mendoza.  This is a perfect option for those who want to explore the wineries at their own pace and try plenty of wine without worrying about driving home.

I did a similar half day wine tasting tour but this one was superior. We visited a small family operated winery, a larger winery, and an olive oil producer each of them were founded in about the 1920s. The local tour guide was excellent and provided a lot of context while the winery guides provided great information and answered all of my detailed questions. Great experience, I learned so much more from this tour and I highly recommend it

Beautiful places, good drink and the Augustin Guide from Mendoza Travels very helpful and explained very well about the places. I highly recommend the experience.

The visits are very didactic for those who visit wine cellars and olive oil factories for the first time.

Beautiful ride!!! The talk in the cellars is very good and the wine tasting is even better

Great to learn about the wine and olive oil production
