Get off the usual tourist path and explore an alternative side to Málaga by bike. Take an eclectic journey to areas that most visitors never get to see and discover surprising street art in the trendy new Soho art district. Pedal past the striking Contemporary Art Museum (Centro de Arte Contemporáneo Málaga) and then head towards the working side of the port area. Check out the urban beaches of Huelin and see red-brick chimneys rising up between the palm trees as a reminder of Málaga’s once powerful industrial past. Hear about the growth of the city in the mid 1800s and what led to its decline in the early 1900s.  Then, cycle into the nature reserve of the Guadalhorce River and pedal along trails lined with tall grasses and wild flowers. Look for birds, including flamingos in the lagoons, and discover the only wild beach on the Málaga coast.
