Full description
You’ll be picked up in Marrakech from where you'll head out in an air-conditioned 4WD vehicle on a drive across the largest mountains in North Africa. En route you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the High Atlas Mountains and fertile valleys. This 10-hour trip is priced for a group of up to 4 persons. See the salt mines in the Ounila Valley, the Pacha Glaoui Kasbah, and Telouet. Visit the Ksar (Castle) of Ait-Ben-Haddou, listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage site. The village of Ait-Ben-Haddou is situated on a hill in the Souss Massa Draa region, along the Ouarzazate River. It was an important stop for traders carrying gold, salt, and slaves along the main caravan route through the Sahara. Both Lawrence of Arabia and Jesus of Nazareth were filmed here. The entire lower part of the village was rebuilt, and in recent years, more controlled restoration was carried out under the watchful eye of UNESCO. Lunch will be in a local restaurant in Ait-Ben-Haddou, where you’ll enjoy your meal with panoramic views of the Kasbah. You'll then return to Marrakech via the Tizi n’Tichka pass.

    Your driver makes your day!

Moustafa deserves a star! Our driver was at the location in time, in a clean, safe car and super friendly. We started off with a laugh and we didn’t stop! He understood we don’t like mass tourisme and he made regular stops for photo’s and toilet breaks at more ‘quiet’ places. Only disappointment on 12hrs together-lunchplace was very poor! But in all honesty-Ait Ben Haddou is so extremely busy and touristic, that in hindsight I think Moustafa maybe took us to the best out of all the worst places there!

Lots of activity, but it's worth it!

The tour lasts a good 10 hours, of which you sit in the car for about 7 hours. However, due to the multitude of new impressions, time passes quickly. At the destinations and on the way there is usually a lot of activity. But it all works fine. Our guide and driver Hamid drove very carefully, but unfortunately speaks little English and French. Before driving, you should read something that will help ... as is so often the case in life. We highly recommend the tour!

    beautiful sights

the guide was nice, spoke English but sometimes was hard to understand. When the advert says lunch is provided ... it is not. Ensure to take money with you for lunch which is approximately £10 per head. The actual sights were incredible and saw such a different side of Morocco.
