Full description
Get picked up from your accommodation in Marrakech at 9 AM and reach the village of Imlil after a short 1-hour drive. Meet your local guide and his team who will walk you to the local family that will host you for your morning cooking class chez l’habitant. At the end of the day, you will know how to prepare an authentic Berber tajine with meat and fresh vegetables. After preparing the tajine, there will be a short break for other activities while the food is cooking in the stove. Choose from two options: Option 1 Enjoy the tranquillity of the place and immerse yourself into the Berber tea culture with your local family. Learn to prepare the typical Moroccan tea with plenty of fresh mountain herbs that you will personally pick from the garden. Option 2 Stretch your legs during a 1.5-hour trek along the Imlil valley to discover the Berber villages and enjoy the stunning panorama of the surrounding Atlas Mountains. After lunch, your driver will take you along the scenic route crossing the Kik Plateau, a rocky limestone outcropping with inspiring views of the region, ending at the Lalla Takerkoust, an artificial lake before heading back to your accommodation in Marrakech at around 5 PM.

My boyfriend and I had a fantastic day trip to the Atlas Mountains , mustafa was very informative and a great host. Our cooking class was with Fatiha Talaour guest house she was absolutely lovely and also showed me how to make the morrocan mint tea after our lunch! Would definitley recommend it was a lovely break from busy Marrakesh!

Very good experience! We loved the meal, which we all prepared together, it was delicious!! We hadn't hiked but we had a quiet meal facing the mountains. It was a great time, very relaxing. No negative point. I recommend with your eyes closed if you like to cook and want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city!

Great day with Mohammed. A private taxi picked us up on the square. On the road we stopped at an argan oil cooperative then the driver dropped us off in the village of Imlil. We were very well received by Mohammed and Mina. Tea, tajine cooking class and exchanges. Once the meal is over, a short walk to reach a small waterfall. I recommend.
