We took the excursion with Florence who is passionate about history, art and the region, we felt safe because she respects sanitary measures and drives with care. She gave us lots of good addresses to enjoy the rest of our stay in Marseille. We were able to enjoy the Roussillon market and have lunch there in a great restaurant where I ate the best ratatouille of my life and as a bonus a breathtaking landscape, it was just magnificent, I did not want to divide. The Lubéron villages are more than breathtaking in beauty, I loved the view over Gordes and the photo stop in Bonnieux. It was an olfactory delight and a feast for the eyes and ears too. I also enjoyed the refreshing walk to Fontaine de Vaucluse but I found that the stop at Isle sur la Sorgue was too much because so tired that we could not enjoy the beauty of this city.

Too long should have been 9 and a half hours ended up 11 hours.

We missed a reservation at Chez Fonfon because we got back at 7.30 the time of our reservation. The tour started at 8 and I was told it would be 9 and a half hours. We should have got back at 5.30. Don’t know why the guide Virginie spent so long in certain villages eg 2 hours in Gordes. Not long enough in some towns with more to see and do and too long in villages where little to do. Went to Marseille to eat Bouillabaisse and missed that experience because of bad timing. Also the guide should not ask for a tip that should be at the discretion of clients. Loved seeing all the villages but if the guide had stuck to the timetable we would have been able to eat Bouillabaisse. We hit the traffic jam coming back because she left too late. Disappointed in all and very tired at the end of the day.

Charming, pastoral Provence. You get a complete picture of a sweet, unhurried and such diverse life away from the city bustle. The market surprises with its variety and very attractive prices.
