Full description
Your ecological adventure begins with pickup from your hotel then heads towards the 3 islands of Mazatlan. Perhaps the most iconic symbols of Mazatlan, the islands are named after the main species that inhabit or once inhabited them. The destination of today’s tour, Deer Island, is nestled between Bird and Wolf Island, and is the largest and most popular island of the 3. There’s plenty to see and do on Deer Island, thanks to its natural attributes and terrain which provide a fantastic recreational space. Spend the day snorkeling in the warm waters in search of colorful marine life, relaxing on the white sandy beaches, and kayaking around the shoreline to soak up incredible views of both Mazatlan and Deer Island itself. You can also follow your expert guide on an ecological hike around the island, to see and learn about native flora and fauna that grow and live here in abundance. At the end of a fun, adventurous, and educational day, head back on board the boat for the return journey to Mazatlan, and then drop-off to your hotel.

Such a great experience! Very friendly staff!! Hugo was such a great chofer and gave us a brief history! They worked very well on our delay and made a separate ride! Roman was very knowledgeable about wildlife and was a great guide in our snorkel adventure and pointed out puffers, stingrays and sea cucumbers. The captain would get close and personal with the rock formations and caves to get a closer look compared to other boats nearby. Highly recommend this group!

The paddle over to the island was easier than it looked, we were there in no time. Our marine biologist guide, Paulo was so knowledgable and interesting. He took great care of us. Super fun hiking up to the hillyop for the views! I would do it again next time i visit, beautiful beach.

Tour operator was late picking us up, usually not a big deal but went to the wrong hotel after texting us that morning regarding pickup location. Kayaking was good though I’m not sure they are aware kayaks will float in four inches of water… instead they loaded myself and my 11 year old out to deeper water and then tried to get us in the kayak while fighting the surf. In my opinion there are easier ways to launch a kayak from a beach. The water was so turbid there was no reasonable expectation that we would see fish. Water was filled with sand and the boats and seas-doos were churning the water. The full face snorkel mask had a broken seal and leaked so breathing seawater into the face mask was unexpected. A new mask worked better but fogged up like crazy which doubled down on the impossibility of seeing any fish. Our guides were kind and helpful even when our group decided we didn’t really want to do the hike.
