Full description

Begin your tour by visiting the site of Escobar’s former home, where he hid his family and had enemies plant bombs to kill him. Learn about the transformation of this site into a memorial park for victims of Colombia's drug war. Next, head to “la cathedral”, a jail Escobar built for himself in an agreement with the government, from which he later escaped. Afterward, visit the soccer field Escobar built, known for its visionary design, where he gave speeches in an attempt to make a foray into Colombian politics. To cap things off, make your way to the cemetery, where Escobar is buried along with his family and other members of his gang, including Griselda Blanco.

By the end of the day, leave the tour with a better understanding of the negative impact that Escobar had on the country and the lives of the Colombian people.

Had a brilliant half day (4 hours) tour with Eduardo. Very informative and passionate about the history of Pablo Escobar from his rise to power to his eventual death. Was thunderstorms up at La Cathedral but umbrellas were provided to everyone which was a nice touch. The only negative was the meeting point at Lleras park was a building site so it was hard to find but guide came and found us. The bus/van was a bit bumpy and tight for 10 people and the guide but didn't mind as journeys between each location was short. Was a great experience and i would recommend to anyone. Ask for Eduardo.

Daniel was a fantastic guide-friendly and super knowledgeable, he brought the tour to life. We got a lot of information about Pablo Escobar and the impact of the drug cartels on ordinary Colombian people. The drive up to La Catedral takes you through other areas of Medellin and a lovely windy road through rainforest. Of course the original buildings are long gone but that doesn’t detract from the impact of Escobar’s life there. The memorial site, football pitch and cemetery are again very interesting places to visit and Daniel gives you just the right amount of information to take it all in. Truly interesting and enjoyable experience.

Really nice tour. tour guide knows a lot. Even though on fact was wrong by telling, that the kids of heros from former times now try to be president. We looked online, they do run for politics, but not president. All the rest was great! We would absolutely recommend this tour for everyone interested in this part of Colombian history.
