Full description
Mexico City, “The City of the Gods”, is one of the largest cities in the world offering a wealth of grand history and cultural discovery. Countless beautiful monuments complement the city’s elaborate architectural style. You’ll find areas as unique as the times they were built including the magnificent historic city center. We’ll visit symbolic sights including the national palace where you’ll see beautiful murals painted by the great artist Diego Rivera, Constitution Square (the Central Plaza or "Zocalo") and the Metropolitan Cathedral. Stepping away from the main avenues of the city, we will visit Chapultepec Park, one of the most important residential areas of Mexico City, the "Pink Zone" (Zona Rosa) and the Anthropology Museum. One of the top museums of its kind in the world, the Anthropology Museum is divided into two separate sections. On the ground floor, twelve rooms provide an introduction to anthropology and display archaeological finds from extinct Native American cultures. The upper floor documents the lifestyle of Mexico’s contemporary Native American inhabitants. Each room is devoted to a group of people or center of culture. Following your visit, you’ll be returned to your hotel.

Excellent from start to finish. I was especially pleased with the guide as she made it a point to translate in English equally even though my wife was the only English only speaker in our group of 12. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and I felt like I attended a session of ancient Meso America history and Mexican history. Wish list would have been to have more time at the museum. It was stretched to about 1-1/2. We would have just stayed but we were nearing closing time 5pm.

The city tour was fantastic- we saw so many things, bypassed lines and our guide was extremely knowledgeable - providing us background and information we never would have picked up on our own. Anthropology museum was a little rushed, but still worth while. I might suggest taking the tours separately rather than combined if your itinerary allows.

Good overview of the city

On the tour we got a good overview of the most important sights in Mexico City. Recommend to do this tour at the beginning of the visit so you can learn and choose what you want to see more and deeper as the city is very big. But if you have only a little time like I had, this was a great tour to see the most important sights. Tour guide Humberto lovely, knew what he is talking about and cared genuinely for the people on his tour. That added the extra touch.
