  • Lima: Miraflores Trending Flavors Half-Day Walking Tour

    5. Lima: Miraflores Trending Flavors Half-Day Walking Tour

Your morning coffee is going to be at the Terrua coffee shop, partnered with a brief explanation about the coffee scene in Peru. Your first visit is to the Surquillo market to try some fruits such as Lucuma and other Peruvian products that are not very known around the world. After a short walk, there is a stop at a local bakery called Lucas, where you will try some desserts made with the ingredients seen earlier at the market. Following this, you will visit La Preferida, a traditional ceviche venue in Miraflores. La Preferida is famous because of its seafood, and while here you will be invited to taste a couple of tapas of your choice. The tour would not be complete without sampling the national Peruvian drink, Pisco. On the way back to Terrua, there will be time for one last stop for a traditional churro for dessert. Coffee is not available on Sundays.

Our guide was young Pablo (afro hair) who we enjoyed very much. The food (and drink) variety was extensive, and Pablo was knowledgeable about the flavors and preparation. And, there was plenty of food - glad we skipped breakfast before the tour. We liked this tour because it was more about the eating culture and flavors of regular working Peruvians - NOT just small tastings at high end restaurants. Would recommend this tour.
