From Tel Aviv: Jerusalem Old City Late Morning Tour

1. From Tel Aviv: Jerusalem Old City Late Morning Tour

Departing from Tel Aviv in the morning, relax during the ride and prepare for the day ahead. The first stop of the tour is Mount Scopus, one of Jerusalem’s most iconic landmarks with panoramic views across the city. Descend the mount, passing the famous Garden of Gethsemane and Church of All Nations along the way. Arrive in the Old City and wander through the bustling Jewish Quarter as you head towards the Byzantine-era Cardo, an excavated thoroughfare with impressive colonnades that line the street. Stop at the Western Wall next, a sacred Jewish site where visitors hide prayer notes between the ancient stones. The tour continues along a section of the Via Dolorosa where your guide highlights a number of the Stations of the Cross that mark points where Jesus stumbled as he carried his cross. The Via Dolorosa leads you to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, a massive and ornate church shared by several Christian denominations and which holds incredible treasures and multiple shrines. Head out of the Old City next with a visit to Mount Zion, home to the Room of the Last Supper where Jesus broke bread with his disciples on the eve of his crucifixion. The Room of the Last Supper is also called the Upper Room as it is above another important site, King David’s tomb, where the faithful come to pray. This tour draws to an end at the BY14 Hotel in Tel Aviv.

What people are saying about Mount Scopus

Smart and well organised guide, nice weather, unforgetable experience.

I have been lucky to meet a smart, well organised, open minded and very friendly guide. Thus, i ve enjoyed a lot the way he structured our meeting, explaining first the general picture, than going down to see what we've previously learnt. Very nice & friendly atmosphere he created. Very helpful and tolerant guide. Would love to have such guides all the time! Nice and skilled driver, shinny day, excelent experience at the Dead Sea. Many thanks and please make your further clients as happy as you made me.

Good tour full of infortmation

I'm satisfied with this tour. But personally for me, some just historical info about dates, centuries, walls and so on should be replaced with information how all this people of different religions and cultures live together, some interesting things about Sabbath, traditions of Orthodox and so on
