Full description
Spend the day at the Partnachklamm, one of the most spectacular gorges in the Bavarian Alps. At a length of more than 2,200 feet (700 meters), it cuts through thick layers of limestone and reaches a height of 280 feet (86 meters) at its most dramatic.
Fed by melt water and formed by an Ice Age glacier on the Zugspitze, it is the perfect spot to escape the hustle of city life, and to get back to wild and dramatic nature. You will be picked up from your hotel in Munich for the drive to Garmisch, a mountain resort town that serves as the gateway to the Partnachklamm.
Get superb photo opportunities as the sun shines into the deep gorge, and as you explore the cascading waterfalls, deep caves, and rushing river.
Stop for lunch at a small mountain hut, with superb views over the Bavarian Alps. After your gorge tour, you will walk to visit the ski station from the 1936 Winter Olympics. Return to Munich at the end of the 8-hour tour, for a hotel drop-off in the city center.
