Full description

On the Herreninsel, the largest island in Bavaria's largest lake, the Chiemsee, you will visit one of the most imposing sights in the whole of the state: the grandiose Herrenchiemsee Palace of King Ludwig II, the builder of Neuschwanstein. The palace was built in imitation of the Palace of Versailles build by France's Louis XIV, whom Ludwig held in the highest esteem. Afterwards, the boat will take you onwards to the lovely, car-free Fraueninsel. There you will have time for lunch and a tour of the island's fascinating sights, including the Carolingian gatehouse, one of the oldest buildings in Germany, the 2,000-year-old tree, and the Benedictine nunnery, with its famous home-made liqueur. The trip to Herrenchiemsee and the Fraueninsel will acquaint you with two of Bavaria's most beautiful and interesting spots. Come along on an excursion fit for a king!

Very nice day.

Superb day, very well organized tour. The guides are professional and attentive to our needs, I who spoke only French or almost. The restaurant on the island was excellent it is not a tourist trap, the food is good the prices it is within budget for me I did not find it more expensive than eating in Munich. My only disappointment is that these tours are only in English or German, but with a little English we do well.

Nice welcome by Elisabeth at the boarding, for each a nice word. Also on the return trip, she asked everyone again if everything was ok. Monica took over from Chiemsee, was also great, her comments were very informative. The weather also played along, all in all a successful day

not enoufh time to visit the castle and its garden

A very quick visit to the casle with no time for the beautiful garden while we wasted a lot of time in the women's island where there is nothing to do... But where they reserved an extra restaurant, and that's probably the reason for rushing there
