Set sail from Doolin pier and embark on a voyage of discovery as you cruise along the coast to the world famous Cliffs of Moher. Enjoy scenic views of the islands of Aran and amazing limestone rocks of The Burren in North Clare. Approach the Cliffs of Moher to get a fantastic view of the headland of Aill na Searrach, popular with surfers for the wave they call the Aileen. Continue to the large sea stack of An Bhreannan Mor, just below the highest point of the cliffs. Marvel at all the tiny people strolling around the Visitors Centre and O'Brien's Tower observatory as you cruise off the coast for about 20 minutes. Benefit from the services of the experienced crew who will point out areas of interest and help you look for sea birds, such as gannets, guillemots, razorbills and Atlantic puffins nesting on the rocks. • From Galway: Cliffs of Moher Explorer Tour

    2. From Galway: Cliffs of Moher Explorer Tour

Depart from the Kinlay Hostel at 9:00 AM and take the scenic journey along the Wild Atlantic Way, through the lunar-like landscape of the Burren and on to the Cliffs of Moher. Pass  the picturesque villages of Clarenbridge, Kilcolgan, Ballindereen, Kinvara, Ballyvaughan and Doolin. Turing right at Ballyvaughan, your local, driver/guide will take you south following the Wild Atlantic Way. Witness the power of the Atlantic Ocean as it battles the coastline of Ireland. Your driver / guide will drop you at the Quay at Doolin, from here you start your walk via the village of Doolin along the cliff path to the Cliffs of Moher. Have 5 hours to yourself and meet your drive/guide at the visitor's center.  Return to Galway via Lisdoonvarna, home to the world famous matchmaking festival held every September.

A really beautiful hike along the cliffs but 5hrs is way too much time even at a leisurely pace. Felt we were just killing time waiting for the return bus ride even after stopping for coffee in the pub before starting the hike and having lunch and touring the interpretive centre after and this is the only reason I wouldn’t recommend this tour. If you can find your own way to the trail head you could hike up and back, or cab it back and probably have a better lunch in the local pub.

Our experience was amazing! We loved, Bob, our guide. His narrative was the perfect mix of history and personality. The group we were with was small and friendly, so interaction with them made it even more fun. It's a lot for one day, but what a wonderful way to see the Atlantic coast of Ireland.

We had great views of the stunning scenery and landscape of the South-west of Ireland and all admissions to points of interest such as Blarney Castle, Cliffs of Moher, etc were efficiently taken care of with adequate provisions for rest within the scheduled times. The piece de resistance of the whole tour was our guide, Jonathan Beaumont. He gave us the best possible insight of Irish hospitality and welcome, he was professional and attentive to everyone, and imparted such in-depth and accurate historical facts of Ireland especially about the Great Famine. He also gave us interesting insights into the folklore and superstitions of Ireland such as the Fairy Tree :) .
