Travel from Rome to Pompeii in an air-conditioned private coach, accompanied all the way by your expert tour coordinator. Benefit from skip-the-line entry and enjoy a self-guided visit around the ancient city. Throughout the ruins, you’ll come across death casts: plaster recreations of unfortunate citizens preserved by the superheated volcanic ash. After visiting Pompeii, the coach will take you up the slope of Mt. Vesuvius (from April to mid-November), one of Europe’s few active volcanoes located in the Vesuvius National Park. From here, take a short hike up to the steaming crater for stunning views of Capri and Sorrento. During the winter season between November and March, Mt. Vesuvius is closed, so your tour will follow the coastline and take you to the city of Naples, where you can explore the iconic Castle Nuovo, the famous art deco Umberto I Gallery, or simply wander around th...
Well organized tour and well priced. My only recommendation is to allow more time for Mt. Vesuvius. Having only one hour to climb and descend was not enough time for us to fully aprreciate it.

We got picked up at hour hotel right on time. The vehicle was very comfortable. They had to pick up two other people in their hotel so it was just the four of us. This is the reason I chose this particular tour as it was max six people and also offered pick up and drop off. It cost a lot more than the other tour operators but it is easier to just be picked up and dropped off. We stopped by at a service station to get coffee and breakfast and then drove all the way down to Pompeii and the guide Chiara was giving us some information along the way. After Pompeii we headed down to the Amalfi coast. There was traffic so it kind of took longer to get to Positano when we got there a quick walk down to the beach had lunch had some gelato and then off to the boat to go to Amalfi town. Did some souvenir shopping then back to the van. It was all fast but we had fun. The guide looked after us very very well. I was hesitant to book this tour as it wasn’t cheap but it was worth it. Glad we did it.

Your journey begins by heading south from Rome city and arriving in Naples. Take a panoramic tour of Naples and reach the port. Discover the amenities of one of the most celebrated island of the Cinema, scene of famous and unforgettable movies. Have a tasty lunch before taking the jet boat to return to Naples and, next, board the coach for your return three hour journey to Rome.
The blue grotto is usually closed! I think it should be advertised as blue grotto or boat ride, so people know what is the option when the grotto is closed! The rest, perfect!

This tour was by far one of the coolest things we’ve ever done. Roberto was an incredible guide on the way there and back, so knowledgeable and such a storyteller. Antonio (the driver) is a hero among men for dealing with the switchbacks up to and down from Vesuvius. The free time in Pompeii was awesome, we loved not having to be with a group during COVID. We could avoid crowds fairly easily on our own. 2 and a half hours isn’t nearly enough time, but I think it would take days of exploring to see everything. Vesuvius was a TREK, but so worth the climb (and the multiple rests) for the view and the perspective. Absolutely breathtaking - in more ways than one. Highly highly recommend to anyone visiting Pompeii from Rome, and if you can swing it - go with Roberto and Antonio.
Roberto and Antonio were both amazing. I did four different tours during my trip to Rome and Roberto was far and away the best guide I experienced. He was super knowledgeable and entertaining. Antonio was a great driver and truly expert in his craft. The way he maneuvered the bus up and down the mountain through traffic was a sight to behold.
Really interesting walking around the ancient city ruins, must be a lovely place before the unfortunate volcanic eruption of Mt. Versuvius Eventhough it was an arduous & difficult climb, it was worthwhile as the view of the Crater of Mt. Versuvius was awesome…& looking down we could see Naples…
Robert, our guide, was super knowledgeable! He was also very funny. Although there was a hiccup with our Pompeii tickets (main office’s fault) that was cleared up and Robert communicated with us really well about how the rest of our day would flow.
Wonderful trip, highly recommended! Everything was on time and smoothly organised. Pompeii is definitely a must see and in Positan we had an opportunity enjoy some stunning views! Safe drive through all serpantines!
