Towering over Merdeka Square, the monument is topped with a glittering flame, coated with 50 kg of gold leaf, to symbolize the nation’s independence. The basement of the monument houses an exhibit of 50 dramatic dioramas depicting the history of Indonesia from prehistoric times to the present. The tour was good, only I was 1 hour earlier in my hotel.

The tour lasted an hour shorter than planned. The guide went quite quickly to be ready earlier I think.
