Enjoy the power of vegetables

Cooking was rather basic but I enjoyed the power of fresh vegetables. When was the last time I had such fresh vegetables, which we took from the garden right before we cooked? Living in a big city, this is something money cannot buy. Most of cooking materials were home made and 120% organic (including wine!). Hostel Ana was a pleasant young lady who started this class last year with her family’s support.

A true farm to table family experience.

Our time at Βασιλικό was fantastic. Jacob, Anna and their family welcomed us upon arrival and were very accommodating of our food allergies. I was very impressed with the personal experience we received, walking through their garden, picking vegetables, learning some of the history of their farm and the Naxos area. As much as I loved the hospitality, I loved the food just as much. Our stuffed vegetables, potatoes and peas were exceptional and made with a number farm fresh ingredients I could count on two hands and nothing more. We got to enjoy the meal with our instructor and relax throughout the whole experience. I could not recommend this class more if you are in the area and looking for a lesson in home cooking.

This is a must do!

Thanks to Anna and her family we had the happiest day picking from the garden, cooking a delicious local meal and hearing so many interesting facts about the area and Naxos! It’s was so much more than just a culinary experience and we left with a little bit of Naxos to share when we get home!
