Full description
Meet your Spanish-speaking tour guide across the street from Battery Park to begin your tour exploring the history of the park and the Statue of Liberty. Learn how millions of Americans immigrated through Ellis Island. Board the Statue of Liberty Ferry with priority fast track access and set sail for Liberty Island. Your expert guide will take you around the grounds of Liberty Island. Admire incredible views of the New York City skyline. Learn about the architecture and construction of the Statue of Liberty at the state-of-the-art Statue of Liberty Pedestal Museum.  Choose between the express self-guided tour or the fully escorted tour. The express self-guided option includes an audio device as well as a 30-minute guided portion with your expert guide. During the fully escorted tour, your expert guide will show you around the grounds for the entire duration of the tour. If you choose the Pedestal option, you will have exclusive access inside Lady Liberty and be able to climb up the stairs to the observation deck where you will have incredible views of the city's skyline and the bridges, Staten Island, and New Jersey. After your visit to the Pedestal, you will board the Ellis Island ferry to Ellis Island. Tour the grounds of Ellis Island and visit the permanent exhibit of individuals and families on the American Immigrant Wall of Honor, located outside of the Great Hall at Ellis Island. Learn how the Wall plays a unique role for individuals to honor their family heritage and read the 775,000 names on the Wall. You will also visit the Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration in the main building of the former immigration station complex. See the interactive displays, photos, and videos in the exhibits and understand Ellis Island's role in immigration history.  At the conclusion of the tour, you can join your guide back on the ferry or stay at Ellis Island and take the ferry back yourself, which returns to Manhattan every 20 to 30 minutes. Investigate your own family's history and take the opportunity to search for passenger information in the American Family Immigration Center, where you can access the passenger records of your ancestors.
