Manuels River Interpretation Center is located an easy 20-minute drive from downtown St John's. Your admission includes access to the state-of-the-art interpretive center and the hiking trails. Learn about the rare 500 million-year-old trilobite fossils and the ancient geology of the area. Wander a picturesque 6-kilometer (3.7-mile) trail system to take in a rich variety of plant and animal life. There are two fossil localities at Manuels River, one on Ocean Trail East and one on Ocean Trail West. When you're ready for a rest, sit back and relax from your treetop view overlooking the river at the onsite cafe.

There's no other place like Manuels River, an easy 20-minute drive from downtown St. John's. Travel back through time and explore over 650 million years of history on a 1.5-hour guided fossil hike with access to Manuels River Interpretation Center and exhibits. Join a knowledgeable interpreter on a journey into the past, to a time when ancient creatures roamed the oceans. You’ll head downstream, starting off at the Manuels River Hibernia Interpretation Centre. Then, after a picturesque stroll through on our trails, come face to face with the fossilized remains of the trilobites, brachiopods, and other animals that called Manuels River home over half a billion years ago. If you opt to include lunch, you have two options. You can hike first at 10:30 AM. Then, after your fossil hike, enjoy a delicious lunch and explore the Manuels River Hibernia Interpretation Centre exhibits at your leisure. Alternatively, arrive at 12:30 PM to enjoy lunch and explore the exhibits. On Thursday evenings, opt for a guided fossil site visit, dinner, and an evening around the campfire. Set off on a 4 PM hike, explore the exhibits, then eat supper around 6 PM.
