1. Nice: Train Experience Through The Alps and Baroque Route

Attention: A good physical condition is required for this tour (includes between 7km to 15km walk/hiking) Escape the tourist crowds and join a combo tour of train experience, discovery of medieval villages, stunning baroque architecture, and incredible natural spots in the middle of the Alps. After meeting your guide 7:55 AM, depart at 8:30 AM from Nice Ville Central Station. Discover breathtaking landscapes as you pass by natural canyons, highly-elevated bridges, and tunnels on a 2-30hour train ride to your destination. During the ride, your guide will tell you the secrets of one of the most beautiful train lines in France, a testimony of French civil engineering at the beginning of the 20th century. Make a stop at 2 medieval villages, Saorge and Tende, and some days La Brigue. First, visit Tende and its Museum des Merveilles to discover Stone Age and other historic artifacts from the Mercantour National Park. Then, head over to the Mercantour National Park itself and spot protected species of flowers. See other highlights of Tende including an impressive Baroque cathedral, the maze of medieval streets, panoramic views from the top of the village, the cemetery, and the ruins of an old castle. Continue the tour to Saorge, an impressive medieval village with steeped streets, built on a concave hillside. Admire the charming and peaceful Franciscan Convent of Saorge founded in the 17th century before visiting the Church of Saint-Sauveur. The church was rebuilt in the 15th century following a fire and restored in the 18th century. The village offers spectacular sceneries of the Alps and the canyons around. When it's time for lunch you can either select from a lunch picnic or lunch at a local restaurant.

This trip was amazing and much better then expected! I did this trip with my 5 years old son . I was skeptical when I booked it , my son might not enjoy a full day guided tour or find it tiring, but our tour guide Yohann was so professional and organized . Also very passionate and well educated about the region , and most importantly is that he has amazing energy and kept us all interested until the end . He was so graceful , patient and fun which made this trip memorable . The sceneries , nature and the historical villages we visited were wonderful. We had very authentic nice lunch in Tende then visited the beautiful Saouge. I highly recommend this trip!

Loved it! Tom was an absolute delight! Informative, well paced, felt like we got to see a lot of Monte-Carlo in just a few hours. Tom gave a lot of additional information for those who wanted to stay longer and had specific interests. He made an effort to engage each person in the group and really is fluent in several languages. I won't recommend this tour to people with young kids or people with mobility challenges - there are a lot of stairs! But for any one else, I would highly recommend this tour with Tom. It was a lot of fun!

Our tour guide Yohann was exceptional! We had such a great time on our tour seeing 2 beautful towns in the Alps! Yohann was so knowledgeable and enthustiastic. He went out of his way to make our tour group comfortable and emitted such a positive vibe. Our small tour group became very friendly with each other soley on Yohann's fantastic personality and his outstanding people skills! By the end of the tour I was sad to have to say goodbye to such a wonderful young man. He really is one in a million! Ed Lustig
