1. Salzburg: The Original Sound of Music Tour
Discover the hills that have been alive to the Sound of Music since 1967. This 4-hour tour of the famous movie’s locations whisks you around the historical city of Salzburg, then departs for the breathtaking mountainous landscape of Salzkammergut. Traveling with, Albus, the company involved with the original filming, you will be guided around The Mirabell Gardens – where the famous “Do-Re-Mi” singing scene took place – and the 17th-Century Hellbrunn Palace, where Rolf and Liesl sang "16 going on 17," and Maria and the Baron sang “Something Good.” Heading for the mountainous landscape of Salzkammergut, you will stop off at the idyllic Palace of Leopoldskron, the Benedictine monastery of Nonnberg Abbey, Lake Wolfgang, and the cloister church in Mondsee, where Maria walked down the aisle to meet the Baron at the altar. As well as providing a glimpse into a timeless movie, the tour also takes in many other local pieces of history and culture along the way.
