Amazing gardens right on top of the cliff (but nowhere near the edge!). Take the little tourist train to get there or park on the road out of town. You cannot drive to the gardens. Give yourself time to sit on some of the seats provided so you can really enjoy the views and the atmosphere. Also allow time to wander along the cliff path outside the garden - the views are breathtaking. There is lovely little gift shop hidden away upstairs in the villa. The pace and content of her remarks was consistently excellent and she unfailingly responded to our questions. Monet's house and gardens exceeded my expectations. There was so much in bloom for May, and the gardens are beautifully maintained. The house is also beautiful. I thought the cost of $121 was a bit high considering it was basically just a ride out to the location and back. It's about one hour from Paris, so we had a total of two hours to explore the house and gardens and gift shop. It would have been nice to have time for lunch, but alas we did not.

Nina was an excellent guide, she led us through the garden and house giving us the most important information about the place and the artist. Monet became real in front of our eyes and his artwork meaningful. Nina also gave us a tour of the cemetery where Monet’s family tomb is located. This gave us an opportunity to understand family ties and the connection the Monets had to Giverny. A truly meaningful visit!
