Toronto: Royal Ontario Museum Special Exhibits Ticket

1. Toronto: Royal Ontario Museum Special Exhibits Ticket

Visit the Royal Ontario Museum, where jaw-dropping dinosaurs, glittering gemstones, and mysterious mummies are just a few of the treasures on display. Your ticket includes general admission and access to one or more of the special exhibits. Enjoy the freedom to explore the museum at your own pace and visit the exhibits and galleries that interest you most. There’s plenty to see and do at the museum, with exhibits to interest the whole family. The special exhibits currently featured at the Royal Ontario Museum include "Great Whales: Up Close and Personal" and the "Breaking the Frame" exhibition. Great Whales: Up Close and Personal In 2017, the ROM shared the incredible journey of Blue, ROM’s beloved blue whale in "Out of the Depths: The Blue Whale Story". The highly successful ROM-original exhibition told the story of nine blue whales that died tragically in the Gulf of St. Lawrence in 2014, and the unprecedented opportunity for research and conservation it presented. Fast forward four years and the museum returns to the depths. Showcasing the ROM’s commitment to Canada’s iconic North Atlantic whales, this exhibition takes the story further and features Blue alongside two new skeletons: the critically endangered North Atlantic right whale and the deep-diving sperm whale. With multi-sensory interactive and immersive experiences, Great Whales compares these three unique giants, from their size and diet to their intelligence and evolution, while highlighting the extensive ongoing research and conservation efforts being undertaken to save these mammals from extinction. The ROM invites you to dive back in and discover these incredible great whales of Canada's east coast, their complex relationships with humans, and what we can do to save them. Breaking the Frame Experience the unexpected in the North American debut of Breaking the Frame, featuring one of the earliest photographs taken by a female artist, unusual subject matter from the biggest names in photography, and portraits from photo studios in West Africa and India. Explore more than 90 original and vintage prints from the Solander collection that inspire new and unconventional approaches to photo history. Breaking the Frame showcases many accomplished artists of the 19th and 20th centuries – from Malick Sidibé and Florence Henri to Lang Jingshan, Ansel Adams, Diane Arbus, Henry Fox Talbot, Robert Frank, and Dorothea Lange – who have helped shape photography, offering a global perspective on the medium that pushes our understanding beyond the conventional.
