Start your private full-day tour in the morning with pick up from your hotel or riad in Ouarzazate, or at the airport. Then, set off on a scenic drive into the desert towards the village of Agdz. The name of this settlement means 'resting place' and it is located on the ancient caravan route from Marrakech to Timbuktu. Check out the beautiful view over the date palm groves to the characteristic Jbel Kissane mountain. Then, follow the Draa River valley past many traditional Berber villages with kasbahs that were built in the 17th and 18th from mud and straw. Admire the huge green date palm groves and the fabolous view of the snowcapped Atlas Mountains. Learn about the valley's rich history which makes it one of the top sights of interest in Morocco. Enjoy a guided visit to the nearby Tamnougalt Kasbah and find out about how the Kasbahs were built and what local life looked like in those days. Next, continue the drive along the valley to the city of Zagora - the administrative center in the region. Head over to the village of Tamegroute which is famous for its green pottery, an old koran library, religious school as well as a subterranean kasbah. Have another guided visit here, before you step inside the house of a local family for a typical Berber lunch cooked on a fireplace. After lunch, take a spectacular camel ride in the nearby dunes - one of the real highlights of this tour. Walk with your friendly camel at the desert pace to the top of a sand dune to get a wonderful view of the Sahara desert. Continue to Kelaa M’Gouna, the city of the Persian roses.
