Full description

Explore the natural beauty of Spain on a guided day trip from Oviedo in a comfortable and air-conditioned bus. Travel to a viewpoint overlooking the lakes of Covadonga, dive into local history at the Basilica of Covadonga, and stop to purchase lunch in Cangas de Onís.

Meet your guide in centrally-located meeting point in Oviedo. Sit back and relax on a spacious bus on the ride to the Entrelagos viewpoint to enjoy unbeatable panoramic views of the Ercina and Enol lakes. Learn details about the Picos de Europa National Park from your guide.

Continue to the Basilica of Covadonga, which was built between 1877 and 1901 in the neo-Romanesque style. Hear about the origin of Don Pelayo and the beginning of the time of reconquest, a story that every Asturian boasts about.

Find out where the expression "Asturias is Spain and the rest is conquered land" comes from. See the cave of the Virgin of Covadonga, where the tomb of King Pelayo is located. Admire the wooden Virgin Mary statue which holds a child and a golden rose.

Stop for lunch in Cangas de Onís, a city full of typical Asturian food establishments where you can buy a refreshing local cider. Enjoy the Asturian drink to the fullest, without worrying about driving.

Have two hours of free time to eat or explore the local area on your own. Get recommendations on sites to see like the Roman bridge which dates back to the High Middle Ages. Return to the meeting point in Oviedo early in the evening.

It's a good trip. The national park is beautiful. Our main complaint is that we signed up for English tour and received confirmation. But it turns out to be a Spanish tour! As far as I know there are at least two other Americans in the tour that do not speak Spanish. So we did not have any information about the places we visited. On our request, our guide told us in English the basic directions such as the time we need to get back to the bus etc. Her English is pretty good. We got a message the day before the trip that the tour is mostly in Spanish. Since we didn't have enough time to book another similar tour, we had no choice but to accept. But it's irresponsible way to do business on your part.

The trip itself and the acenery was beautiful but..... my ticket said language ENGLISH which is what i booked but the tour was done 100% in Spanish. I dont blame the guide for this. she told me what she could at each stop but this is false and misleading advertising of information by the company. i book these trips to get some knowledge, history and culture of an area but got absolutely nothing from this trip. wouldnt recommend taking this tour if you dont have fluent Spanish.

First of all, I clearly booked an English speaking tour. It was not an English speaking tour. Initially, this made me quite upset. But the tour guide tried to help me as much as possible and it worked out well. The tour was amazing. Very beautiful. Would have liked a little more time at Covadonga. I highly recommend this tour. But it would help if you spoke Spanish.
