Whenever I have visitors new to Oxford - I book seats on the open top tour bus. its a good tour but would be excellent if it had a courier doing a live commenttary as used to be the case. The radio commentary is good and available in many languages but the ear phones are not compatible with hearing aids. My friends this time were fellow college students from 65 years ago! Mobility did not allow us to access the top deck but the views from inside did not disappoint. We ended our visit by alighting at the Randolph to enjoy Lunch at the Ashmolean and a wonderful exhibition

This is a very good way of getting an introduction to Oxford. So many interesting stories and famous people that we would not have known otherwise. Especially good when it's raining!! Only thing is the timing of the bus is not always in sync with the speaker. The bus itself seem well maintained and clean.

A fairly comprehensive trip shame about the bridge of sighes but did see Mr Rhodes and the little bridge of sighes. A lot of info given, the bus needs to be slower to match. A shame that the guide had to spend a lot of time helping people with the ear plugs so a lot of info missed, perhaps an assistant in times of heavy loading?
