Budapest: Széchenyi Spa Full Day with Optional Pálinka Tour

1. Budapest: Széchenyi Spa Full Day with Optional Pálinka Tour

Book your full-day ticket to the Széchenyi Bath in advance and take advantage of complimentary tasting of Hungary's famous spirit "pálinka" on an optional guided tour inside the Pálinka Museum. The Széchenyi Bath is the largest thermal spring bath complex not only in Budapest but in Europe as well. It was built in 1913 in a Neo-baroque style. At the time it opened its baths were private, having separate steam baths for men and women, as well as different public baths for men and women. In 1927, the spa complex was expanded and today it comprises 3 outdoor and 15 indoor pools. After its expansion, the thermal artesian wasn’t adequate to supply the spa, so a new well was drilled. The second thermal spring dates from 1938. Towels and swimsuits are available for purchase only, no rental. Please note that swimsuits that cover the entire body are not permitted. During your visit, blow off some steam at the pools of Széchenyi Spa (built-in 1913.), which is Europe’s largest healing bath with its 15 indoor, and 3 grand outdoor pools. Pools are of varying temperatures, between 18 to 38 °C (64 to 100 °F). The complex covering 6220 square meters (67000 sq ft) also includes saunas and a steam bath. Afterward, discover a hidden gem in the city center to taste some Hungarian pálinka (spirits; non-alcoholic drinks are also available). Differently from whiskey or vodka, pálinka is made exclusively from different sorts of fruits and has an aromatic smell. Inside the Pálinka Museum's interactive exhibits, you will learn about its birth, tradition, and history. That’s why Hungary's Pálinka Act of Parliament exists which regulates and protects the production and quality of palinka.

Loved this so much! This was the best value option I could find and it was our favourite day in Budapest - I was scared we’d be cold with it being Feb but the whole place is warm even outside from the thermal bath steam I guess? Although if you’re going in winter I’d definitely recommend buying a dressing gown there which is what we did - or bring one, but leave space in your case to bring it home because they are really lovely dressing gowns! My partner hates flip flops so used scuba shoes which were fine if you are in the same position, however, he still took them off before he got in the water Outside pools were much nicer than the inside pools personally just as a top tip! I bought flip flops there and they had the bath name which is a nice little momento The saunas and the steam rooms are nice too so recommend having a go in them! Recommendations: stuff to buy is nice good quality so leave space in your case, have a good explore around and don’t stay in one place, try it al

Great experience! We opted for the private cabin too which I would recommend if you can as you can use it for storing all your clothes & bags etc for the duration of your time at the spa. We absolutely loved the baths, felt so relaxing.

It was a very relaxing day i the thermal baths , it was crowded a bit do I prefer outside thermal baths , I payed a day with cabin I recommended so you have your sauce and your things lock in the cabin ,

Great way to spend a few hours relaxing, me and my boyfriend loved the different indoor and outdoor pools. Definitely worth the money!

The pools we’re very good, injoyed the different aspects off the pools, changing areas were private and quite spacious.
