Full description

Explore the Champagne region on a guided day tour from Paris. Visit the cellars of reputable champagne producers, learn about the history of the region, taste local wines, and enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.

Start with a pickup from your hotel and head for the heart of the champagne region, Épernay. Take a guided tour of Moet & Chandon or other famous champagne houses such as Pommery, G.H MUMM, Veuve Clicquot, Mercier, etc. Learn about the history of its namesake and sip on fine vintage champagne. Stroll along the Avenue de Champagne towards your minivan while the guide tells you about a few other well-known houses around you and the champagne cellars below you.

Visit a small local winery and meet the people behind the production of this great drink. Taste their elegant and exclusive product and hear about the history of their champagne estate. Stop in the village where the monk who invented champagne lived. Discover local gastronomy and savor a 3-course lunch at a local restaurant. Visit the producer where more than 80 farmers work hard to make an amazing selection of sparkling wines designed for special occasions.

Explore the museum to see different utensils used to make Champagne, and watch a short film about the vineyards. Sample more glasses of Champagne before driving back to Paris. After a few fun games, trying all types of wines, and eating delicious food, your guide will also give you something nice to remember your visit to the champagne region and drop you off at your hotel.

Tom was a wonderful driver/tour guide who made us all feel at home and was very knowledgable throughout the day and was happy to tailor the day to our groups needs. The group was a perfect size of 6 giving us the real sense of a private tour. Personally for me, although the Mercier tour was interesting through the caves on the train, the champagne isn’t that great. The last vineyard we visited at the hotel was by far the best offering for champagne. Lunch was very good and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. I would have preferred to have visited Verve Cliquot on the trip but I know that that is in a different area. I think for the money spent on the tour I would expect a better quality of champagne to be offered. Nevertheless we all had a really good day.

We really enjoyed this experience. The tours were excellent and we learned a lot about making and buying champagne. I was also really impressed by the lunch and it was really nice to be picked up and dropped off at our hotel. Our driver Batiste (sp) was very friendly and helpful as well. All in all it was a very nice day and a highlight of our trip to Paris.

Enjoy the tour but we didn’t go to Moet & Chandon nor Vueve Cliquiot as advertised. I really wanted to go to a high-end well known champagne house since those are more known worldwide, I was disappointed. The rest of the tours we did go to were fine. Mercier cellar tour was an interesting experience.
