Full description
Make the most of your time in Paris and beat the crowds with skip-the-line access to the Louvre; the world's biggest museum. On your 3-hour personalized tour, your guide will ensure your day at the Louvre is informative and efficient as you are led through a museum that would normally take weeks to cover. The Louvre is so big that Louis XIV used to ride his horse up and down the Louvre's corridors! Learn about the history of the museum and, of course, the world-famous art on its walls including Da Vinci's Mona Lisa and Canova's Psyche and Cupid. Travel through time and look at art and artifacts dating from 450 B.C. right through to the 19th century. Begin with the medieval foundations of the former royal residence, admire one the world’s most celebrated sculptures, the Winged Victory of Samothrace, and see the royal crowns of Napoleon and King Louis XV.

Overall, I was happy with the experience. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the fact that we wasted about 20 mins of our trip waiting in the Mona Lisa line. If it's a busy day, the tour should end at the Mona Lisa so you don't spend 20 minutes of the tour just standing in line. Our guide did her best to still talk to us as best as she could, but it would be much better to finish the tour and then send us off to do the line on our own time.

Our group of 12 (though when I booked it had said 6 but that did not hamper the experience) had a very knowledgeable guide as well as pleasant (that I consider lucky when I saw an overheard few other guides along the way). I seem to forget her name.. maybe Claire! It was little unlucky that Thursday, 6th of June since there were many school groups of small children, so few important paintings were bypassed by our guide because of the crowd near those paintings. I personally went back to look at them. Overall, it was worth it since one can get lost and overwhelmed in the Louvre.

12 people is not really a small group. Also we finished the tour ahead of time - it seems that the organizer is calculating with 30-45 minutes waiting time for the Mona Lisa. It would be much better to have the 3 hour tour without the Mona Lisa and allow participants thereafter to see the Mona Lisa by themselves (a tour guide is not needed for this part!).
