Fabien, our tour guide, was fabulous! He was always checking in to make sure everyone was taken care of. His history of France was entertaining, informative and funny. Bicycling is the best way to experience Versailles. You get so much more exposure to the 2,000 acres. It’s mostly shady paths, mostly flat terrain and the lakeside picnic is a great way to feel like royalty on a summer’s day. We picked up our lunch at a local farmer’s market filled with cheeses, meats, fresh fruits, vegetables, desserts and prepared foods. Fabien made sure we could find a great selection of choices. He prepared us for everything ahead of time. I highly recommend this trip!

Our guide was Arturo and he was perfect. He provided great historical information and was incredibly kind. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, there’s a lot of walking! The bike was perfect because you’re able to see more of the grounds. We were exhausted and sore by the end but it was perfect.

Don’t expect a comfy bike seat or a comfy, smooth ride as you explore. The tour guide was great - - I’m here for you Eric! He made the trip fun and entertaining, he answered so many questions and gave many opportunities for questions from the group and individually. He also had a wine opener and cups - A+ on that anticipated need of the group. My only qualm besides the bike seat itself was that the tour ended at the palace and not back at the train station.
