Full-Day Medoc Wine Tour

2. Full-Day Medoc Wine Tour

Departing from a central location in Bordeaux, this small group tour explores the beautiful Medoc wine-growing region of France. You will head towards the famous wine-producing appellations such as Margaux, Saint Julien, Pauillac and Saint Estephe. You will enjoy 3 visits in Classified Growth or Cru Bourgeois estates that have been carefully selected for their exceptional setting and quality of wine. You will learn all there is to know about the history of the estates, the wine making process, as well as the techniques used during wine making. A wine tasting session follows the visits. The Medoc area covers approximately 5,700 hectares of declared vineyards, producing an average 300,000 hectoliters of wine per year. Of the grape varieties permitted, 50% of the viticultural area is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and to a lesser extent Petit Verdot and Malbec. Also allowed within the AOC regulations are the varieties Cabernet Franc and Carménère. After your tasting sessions, follow the castle road to see some of the most famous châteaux of the region, such as Chateau Margaux, Chateau Palmer, or Chateau Pichon Longueville.

The tour with Hugo was amazing! We were a small group and he brought us with a cool van to three different Chateaux. He shared a lot of interesting stories and shared all his wine knowledge with us, replying to every single question we had with such interesting stories! Definitely worth the money, we found it a it expensive first but the trip, the fine wine selection, the visit to the chateaux and seeing how different they are in making their product, and definitely the guide, make it a wonderful experience!

Vincent, our driver, was very informative, friendly and helpful. The 3 vineyards we visited and toured were all quite different and we enjoyed the variety and wines. One of the highlights was a beautiful farm-to-table lunch in a vineyard. All in all one of the highlights of our trip to France.

Fantastic experience, Jerome our guide was really good and took us to the most beautiful farms and wine tastings.

Great wine trip. Great sightseeing with wine tasting. All in all very recommendable!

Great tour guide, pleasant small group. Beautiful chateaux visited
