Full description
At 8:00 AM, start your tour of the charming capital with a visit to the city’s namesake, Wat Phnom. The pagoda was built to house Buddhist relics washed ashore by the river. After, you will visit the Royal Palace built in 1866 by King Norodom. See the different structures of this pagoda-style compound and stroll in its beautiful garden. Visit the Silver Pagoda named because of it’s floor that is comprised of 5,000 silver tiles. A gold Buddha encrusted with 9,584 diamonds and a small 17th century emerald and baccarat crystal Buddha are also housed here. Continue to the nearby National Museum. Built in 1917, it is an exceptional example of traditional architecture and is exclusively devoted to preserving and displaying Khmer art and sculptures. Hundreds of pieces are housed here including both pre-and post-Angkorian pieces. At 12:00 PM, your tour will come to an end and your guide will transfer you back to your hotel.

First of all, after asking the organizer, we were able to combine the Phnom Penh city tour and the S-21 prison & killing fields tour, both of which were actually intended as a half-day tour in the morning, into a full-day tour without any problems. The tour is extremely exciting and also very depressing and touching due to the visit to the prison and the killing fields. In the museum (with an extra guide if desired) you can see many exhibits from Angkor. Unfortunately, the royal palace was closed for renovations at the time of our stay. Our fabulous guide, whose almost accent-free English is very easy to understand even for non-native speakers, provided us with a lot of information about the history of Cambodia and especially its darkest chapter, the reign of terror of the Khmer Rouge. Highly Recommended!

It has been an unbeatable success to have taken this excursion with this tour operator, they have taken care that I could make a visit with enough time within my narrow margin on the day I had today I have to mention the interest, kindness, wisdom and knowledge of the guide Kim Without which the excursion would not have been the same, likewise the driver always pending to facilitate things with my luggage with everything of course regardless of what the visit is and the excursion itself, which is a marvel, you should not stop doing it is very interesting very complete but does not honor the tour operator and the guide

Perfect trip between beautiful temples and the killing fields

The excursion takes you into the cruel time of the Pol Pot regime and then also to discover the beautiful sides of Phnom Penh. While Killingg Fields and S21 Prison are not for the faint of heart or small children, the rest of the tour will show you the good things about the city. Value for money could be better, especially if you consider the price level in the country. Our guide was very friendly and spoke relatively good English. However, one should not expect the standard of comparable offers, for example in Bangkok.
