  • Porto: Scandola Nature Reserve Eco-Friendly Boat Tour

    1. Porto: Scandola Nature Reserve Eco-Friendly Boat Tour

Discover the Scandola Nature Reserve and visit the charming village of Girolata as you embark on a boat tour off Porto on the coast of Corsica. Sail in silence on the waters of the reserve on an eco-friendly hybrid boat and enjoy access to prime seating thanks to priority boarding. Meet the ship’s friendly crew who will assist you with the boarding process and then set off to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Nature Reserve, which is only accessible by sea and subject to strict protection. See coastal caves and observe diverse marine life and seabirds, such as ospreys and peregrine falcons, from a respectable distance so as not to disturb the natural environment. Learn about the reserve’s ecology through live French commentary throughout the tour. Stop for 30 minutes in the remote and quaint coastal village of Girolata, surrounded by the sea and only accessible by boat. Walk around...

Très bonne expérience. À cause d’un temps, notre sortie a été décalée d’un jour, mais nous ne l’avons pas regretté. Les paysages sont vraiment fantastiques et les commentaires diffusés tout au long du parcours sont très judicieux et plein d’humour.

  • Scandola, Girolata and Calanche de Piana Full-Day Boat Tour

    2. Scandola, Girolata and Calanche de Piana Full-Day Boat Tour

Set sail from Ajaccio or Porticcio on a full-day boat tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Scandola Nature Reserve and the Gulf of Porto. Experience one of the last Mediterranean enclaves to provide shelter for endemic flora and birdlife. Stop in the coastal village of Girolata and explore the secluded village for 2 hours. Find a nice restaurant for lunch or enjoy a picnic on the beach. In the winter, the village becomes a virtual backwater with only about 15 residents.

Then, venture into the Calanche de Piana to discover an outstanding landscape of pink granite rocks shaped over the centuries by changes in temperature, strong winds, and sea spray. Explore the geological diversity and unique location of the rocks that give a particular aspect to the area.

Everything as planned, good explanations and tidy boat, but but I'd suggest a smaller one with a smaller group so you can get a more human experience, dive from the boat (we went to swim on the beach stop) and see the calanques closer.

  • From Sagone or Cargèse: Scandola Reserve Boat Tour

    3. From Sagone or Cargèse: Scandola Reserve Boat Tour

Discover the wonders of the Corsican Coast accessible only by sea. Visit the Scandola Nature Reserve and have free time in Girolata. Board a 73-seater ship and take a half-day trip to the famous Scandola Nature Reserve, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your guide will share interesting information about the nature reserve. The boat will stop for 2 hours or 30 minutes, depending on the option you book, in the small village of Girolata where you will enjoy your free time. Eat lunch at a local restaurant or bring your own food to enjoy a picnic with a nice view. You can also relax on the beach, swim, and walk around the village. After your stop, the boat tour will continue to Calanques de Piana before going back to Sagone and Cargèse.

  • Ajaccio: Guided Scandola Nature Reserve Boat Tour

    4. Ajaccio: Guided Scandola Nature Reserve Boat Tour

Be one with nature on this guided boat tour of the Scandola and Capo Rosso reserves. Swim in blue waters and discover natural caves and majestic cliffs.

After meeting your guide, head over to the island of Cargalo and continue through the cathedral fault. Swim in turquoise waters while your appetizer of cold meats and rosé wine from Corsica is prepared. At noon, arrive at Girolata, a small fishing village built around an 18th-century fortress accessible only by sea.

The boat will sail again at 2 pm towards the Gulf of Porto for another swimming break at Anse Ficaghjola, a village overlooking a beach. Then, proceed to the Calanques of Piana, a geological jewel with cliffs and caves. Upon reaching the natural pool of Capo Rosso, dive in its crystal clear waters.

Enjoy a final swim at the Cala di Pala Cove where you can also jump off diving boar...

What people are saying about Piana

Our tour was postponed one day earlier due to bad weather. For this reason, the tour was only available with a French-speaking guide. I didn't understand a word, but the guide was so nice, friendly (and so handsome ) that I didn't mind at all that I didn't understand. The views were breathtaking. A very successful trip. I recommend it to everyone!:)

Super moment! The touch of humor mixed with the captain's explanations made the ride more than pleasant! The friendly and kind team! Thinking that the trip was going to be long, we were captivated by the landscapes around us. Do not hesitate this excursion is superb and magnificent!

Boarding was smooth snd quick. Our guide was very informative about the places (geological and historical) but you need to understand French The scenes was very nice and the boat was also nice regarding size and capacity.

Amazing afternoon. We took full eyes. A big thank you to her crew who were excellent as much in their navigation as in their explanations and their good humor.

Very good excursion I recommend isula cruise in Sagone.
