Departing from Piazza del Popolo, in front of the "twin" churches of Santa Maria in Montesanto and Santa Maria dei Miracoli, set off for Rome’s historic center and see sights such as the baroque Trevi Fountain. According to legend, if you throw a coin in the fountain you are guaranteed to one day return to Rome. You will also pass Piazza Barberini, Piazza Colonna, named for the marble Column of the Roman Marcus Aurelius, and Piazza Venezia, the very center of Rome dominated by the Victor Emmanuel II monument to a unified Italy. Drive to lesser known gems, such as Celio Hill, site of the beautiful villa and gardens of Villa Celimontana and the ancient basilicas of Santo Stefano Rotondo and Santi Giovanni e Paolo. And explore Aventine Hill, home to the Knights of Malta, city rose garden, and a fragrant orange grove. Tours are tailored to client’s wishes and all itineraries are suggestions. The purpose is to give you an idea of what one can see during a tour in a golf cart, and what the tour can cover starting and ending from the Piazza del Popolo.

Borghese Gallery Masterpieces & Gardens: Skip-the-Line Tour

2. Borghese Gallery Masterpieces & Gardens: Skip-the-Line Tour

Learn about Cardinal Borghese's vast art collection and the stories behind each piece on this guided tour of the Borghese Gallery and Gardens. Stroll along shady lanes among sculptures and tranquil fountains. Cardinal Scipione Borghese commissioned both the Villa Borghese itself and many of the great works still on display in its gallery. Works by Bernini, Caravaggio, and Titian remain in their original settings, as envisioned by the Cardinal, a fiercely determined collector. Strictly-controlled entry to the Villa and Gallery can make booking difficult and complicated. This package lets you avoid the organizing and even skip the line to get in when you arrive. During this fully-guided tour you’ll hear more about Cardinal Borghese’s quest to complete his collection, and the stories behind the artworks themselves, including Bernini’s "Apollo and Daphne", Canova’s "Pauline Bonaparte", Caravaggio’s "St. Jerome" and Raphael’s "The Deposition". Your guide will be an English speaker and an expert on the collection, and audio headsets ensure you’ll hear every word they say. The tour also includes a visit to the Borghese Gardens: once the Cardinal’s private park, now a favorite spot for locals to relax among sculptures, plants, and water features, and get away from it all. Amazing tour, amazing tour guide and amazing art! Galleria Borghese is wonderful inside, very much decorated with beautiful and world known sculptures and paintings. Our tour guide Francesca was absolutely fantastic! Her knowledge and the way she presented everything with all the details was astonishing! Thanks to her I look at the sculptures from different perspective now. I would like also to add that her English and accent are excellent! Thank you

We've visited Rome a few times, so were lookimg for something different to do. Really enjoyed this activity. It took us to hidden places we hadn't discovered before and gave us a new insight into the beautiful city. The game was great as we didn't need to go into places, so it's good to do at night. The story was very interesting and a little unexpected too! We'll definitely use this app in other cities we visit.

EXCELLENT! Masterpieces all over, many rooms all filled with valuable and special pieces of artwork. Limited time of 2 hours is a good way to control the flow and accumulation of persons, but IMPOSSIBLE to see and explain all. Tour guide very competent and committed, we enjoyed the show! Highly recommended.

Was a great way to get an overview of the inner city of Rome and learn a bit about Roman history to put your trip in context.
