Your tour guide will pick you up at 8:30 a.m. from your hotel, due to the viewpoint of the volcano Pululahua, one of the two inhabited craters in the world. This volcanic complex consists of a main boiler, a central volcano with two craters and the remains of a third party, and several volcanic domes within the caldera located on the edge and outside of it. Then we head to the Intiñan Museum, geographically located at 0 degrees, 0 minutes and 0 seconds, that marks the division between northern and southern hemispheres as established by the French Geodesic Mission in the eighteenth century, you will see beautiful displays of different ethnic groups in Ecuador, plus the story of their lifestyles, explained by a specialist tour guide! This is an opportunity to be photographed with both of your feet on the northern and southern hemispheres at the same time! On the way back to Quito, you will see from the road the Equatorial Monument. In the afternoon you go to the colonial town of Quito, officially considered the first world cultural heritage site (UNESCO 1978). Explore the volcanos of Ecuador, especially Quilotoa, on this special guided tour. Enjoy a scenic drive along the way, and once you get there a relaxed bike ride and walk which will give you access to off-road locations. Quilotoa Volcano is a small 3 km wide caldera about 80 km southwest of Quito. It is in the westernmost of Ecuador's Andean volcanoes. The caldera is the truncated remnant of a dacitic stratovolcano. It has steep inner walls which rise 400 m above the surface of a 240 m deep lake.  It is a 3-hour drive from your hotel to the lake. On route, you will have the opportunity to take photos of volcanoes along the way. If the tour is on a Thursday, you will stop at the Saquisili market to see their local produce. On arrival at Quilotoa Volcano, take a 30-minute walk to the lake. The return trip will take approximately 1 hour so it is recommended to rent a horse. There are some restaurants where you can try typical Ecuadorian food. Return to Quito and if you like, you can bike down a steep road, which is a really good experience.
