Full description

Punta Allen is a picturesque and perfect place to park yourself on a boat tour. Here explore the local lagoons and come face to face with the incredible wildlife of this region. You'll have the chance to see beautiful birds and maybe even the opportunity to see wild dolphins and sea turtles that live in these waters. On the tour, also stop at the 2nd largest coral reef in the world, where you can jump out of the boat and enjoy a pleasant snorkel adventure (subject to sea conditions). You'll be amazed at the colors of this very healthy coral reef and the varieties of fish are absolutely stunning. The reef system is home to more than 65 species of stony coral, 350 species of mollusk, and more than 500 species of fish. Then, head to the beach, where the picture-perfect sandbar awaits. Here enjoy a delicious Caribbean lunch of fresh fish and fruit before heading back out to explore a bit more. The biodiversity of the Yucatan Peninsula is essential and the aim is to share this passion with you and teach you how you can all work to keep this great natural land safe for future generations. It became a World Heritage Site in 1987 and you'll understand why.

Stop reading and just book this tour! It is incredible, unique, and Punta Allen is so beautiful! Also, the guides were amazing! We had Martin and Lea with our group, and both were very knowledgeable about the region and organized. Martin knows a lot, is a lot of fun, and doesn’t make you feel like it’s just another day. He knows how unique and incredible his country is and wants you to see this for yourself! The whole time he was making sure we noticed the flora and fauna, answering all of our questions and sharing little details about the area. Nothing felt rushed. Of course there is no guarantee that you’ll see wildlife, but we did at every step of the tour! Dolphins, a manatee, sea turtles, crocodiles, an osprey, sting rays, plus tons of exotic fish while snorkeling. It was truly unbelievable. The prettiest blue/green Caribbean waters you dream of! This tour was the highlight of our trip to Tulum! Leave the beach & see what’s real. Thank you Mexico Kan Tours, and thank you Martin!

This was a great tour, well organised with great guides. The hour long torture along the very bumpy road was well worth it. We saw a lot of the wildlife, including sea turtles, dolphins, and manatees. Here are some tips if you planning to do it: Sit in front rows in the van (the back is very hard), buy and use biodegradable sunscreen (DO NOT USE NORMAL SUNSCREEN), wear a rash shirt instead of sunscreen, be prepared to get wet on the boat. The tour operators are very careful about the impact of the tours and also show how Tulum was decades ago during the walk through Punta Allen. They also give very helpful hints and guidance on how to be a responsible traveller.

The Sian Kaan adventure was absolutely amazing! Our guide Ursula was super fun and very knowledgable, and the boat drivers were also very energetic and contributed to a fun day. The reserve is simply stunning. We snorkelled and saw turtles, mantas and the coral reef. We also saw dolphins swimming close to our boats! The lunch and Punta Allen was delicious :) The only thing to be aware of is that the trip to the reserve is on a small van and veeeery bumpy. If you suffer from backpain, or for some reason could not deal well with 45 minutes being shaken to the core by huge holes in the street, then I guess you should avoid it. Other than that, Sian Kaan is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen and the guides were great. Thank you Ursula & Co!
